UT head football coach Todd Graham said he is confident the Aggies will compete for an SEC title and bowl game.
The UT men’s basketball team also could get a shot at a conference title.
“We’ve had a really good recruiting class,” Graham said.
“I’m really proud of our team.
They’ve got talent and we’re going to compete for a lot of championships.”
UT had 11 players ranked in the ESPN 100.
The Aggies were ranked No. 2 in the country by 247Sports.
Graham said he’s confident the Longhorns can compete for SEC titles, as well.
“You’ve got to win the SEC,” Graham joked.
“The Big 12 and Big Ten have really good teams.
It’s going to be tough for us, especially against the top teams.”UT’s record at home in 2017: 7-2.
UT’s season ended on a high note when it defeated LSU, 54-48, in the first round of the CFP title game.
UT went on to lose to LSU in the SEC title game, 56-46, in a nationally televised semifinal.
The Longhorns beat Texas Tech, 68-53, in overtime in the Cotton Bowl to earn a national title.
The Longhorns will play in the 2016 Cotton Bowl.
The 2016 Cotton will be played Dec. 3 at NRG Stadium in Houston.
