UCLA is announcing that it is happy to announce that a talented young woman has been admitted to the University of California at Los Angeles, the most prestigious university in the world.
The announcement came after the US Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights sent a letter to the university on March 31st demanding to know whether the woman had received the full “qualified, full-time” US visa to enter the US.
According to the letter, the university must provide details on whether the applicant has been accepted for admission to the US, whether the US visa is “expired” and “has expired”.
According to The Times of India, the department has said that if the student is eligible, they will take a further look at whether the visa is still valid.
It is not the first time that a young Indian woman has received a US visa.
Earlier this month, a 19-year-old Indian woman was admitted to UCLA’s medical school on the basis of her “extraordinary academic credentials” and her “incredible work ethic”.
The woman was granted a full-ride visa to the country.
Last year, a 17-year old Indian student, whose parents were from Nepal, was granted permission to enter America on the grounds that she “would provide valuable research for our research”.
