UC Davis, with a student body of about 5,000, was once one of the nation’s most expensive schools.
It cost nearly $26,000 to enroll in a yearlong degree program in 2016-17, according to data provided by the university.
UC Davis also charges more than $5,000 for a general education program and $1,000 a year for a graduate program.
The university has a cap on the number of credits a student can earn at a particular program.
But the University of California system reported a similar report for the year ended Sept. 30, 2016, and said the total cost of tuition and fees for those two categories of students was $1.05 billion.
The University of Wisconsin also reported the total amount of tuition, fees and other costs for the two-year program for the 2017-18 academic year.
The UW reported a total of $936.6 million in total cost for the program.
UC Berkeley, a public university in California, reported the same number, but reported a much smaller total of costs.
The total cost was $838.2 million.
