Karnataka Diploma Common Entrance Test 2018- Karnataka DCET 2018

Karnataka Examinations Authority is inviting online applications from eligible Diploma Holders for Common Entrance Test for admission to 2 Year/3 Semester Engineering Courses and for first year Architecture courses under Lateral Entry Scheme for both Day and Evening Colleges. Applicant should have appeared for NATA Exam conducted by Council of Architecture and should have valid NATA score to become eligible for admission to First year/First Semester B. Arch course and should apply for DCET-2018. The candidates seeking admission only to B. Arch course need not have to appear for Diploma Common Entrance Test‐2018 conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority.

Karnataka DCET 2018 eligibility criteria

(i) For B.E Courses (Day Engineering College): Candidate who has passed any diploma examination or equivalent examination with minimum of 45% marks (40% for SC, ST and Backward Classes of Karnataka candidates) taken together in all subjects of the final year (Fifth and sixth semester) is eligible for admission to B.E courses.

(ii) For B.E Courses (Evening Engineering College): Candidate who has passed any diploma examination or equivalent examination with minimum of 45% marks (40% for SC, ST and Backward Classes of Karnataka candidates) taken together in all subjects of the final year (Fifth and sixth semester) and must have minimum of Two Years Full Time Work experience as on September, 2018 is eligible for admission to B.E courses.

(ii) For B. Arch Course (Only in Day Engineering College): Candidate who has passed any diploma examination or equivalent examination with minimum of 50% marks taken together is eligible for admission to 1st year B. Architecture course along with 40% marks in National Aptitude Test for Architecture (NATA) conducted by Council of Architecture. candidates who does not have NATA score must appeared for National Aptitude Test for Architecture (NATA) conducted by Council of Architecture and has to secured a minimum of 40% marks. The last date for submission of the NATA score to KEA by e‐mail in September, 2018.

How to apply for Karnataka Diploma Common Entrance Test 2018

Eligible candidates can apply online at http://kea.kar.nic.in by clicking on “DCET-2018 UG Online Application” on or before June, 2018. Application fee of Rs. 650/- for General and OBC (Rs.500/- for SC / ST Category-1) can be paid through bank Challan available on website. The candidates have to pay the requisite fee in any of the branch of specified banks. The bank will retain bank copy of the Challan respectively and handover the remaining two copies of the Challan to the candidates.

Candidates have to take the printout of the application form on A-4 Size sheet of paper. Affix candidate’s recent Passport size Photograph, signature, Left Hand Thumb Impression on the space provided. Afterwards students have to obtain Principal seal and signature from the college where they have studied Final Year Diploma on the space provided in the printed form. The same copy should be produced during document verification along with the copy of the Challan (KEA copy).

Karnataka DCET 2018 test pattern

The Diploma Common Entrance Test for admissions to B.E courses will be conducted in July 2018 from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm and for Kannada Language Test will be conducted on 02‐07‐2017 (from 3.00 pm t o 4.00 pm) only at Bangalore for Gadinadu and Horanadu Kannadigas.

Karnataka DCET 2018 test paper will consist of 180 MCQs of 180 marks from below mentioned subjects. Duration of the exam will be 3 hours.

• Applied Mathematics- 40 marks
• Applied Science- 40 marks
• Engineering Paper- (Aeronautical/ Biotechnology /Ceramics / Civil / Chemical / Computer Science / Electronics & Communication/Electrical & Electronics/ Environmental/ Mechanical / Mining / Textile)- 100 marks
