Directorate of Medical Education Tamil Nadu is inviting online applications for MBBS/BDS courses admission 2017 for seats available in the Government Medical/ Dental Colleges in state for academic session 2017-2018. How to apply for Tamil Nadu MBBS, BDS courses admission 2017

Eligible candidates can apply online at http://www.tnhealth.org from 26.06.2017 to 07.07.2017 from 10.00 A.M to 5.00 P.M.

Candidates should submit the filled in application form with necessary enclosures and Demand Draft of Rs. 500/- towards the cost of application form drawn in favor of The Secretary, Selection Committee, Kilpauk, Chennai – 10 payable at Chennai which should reach on or before 08.07.2017 by 5.00 P.M. to the following address:

The name of the candidate and the name of course (MBBS/BDS) should be written on the reverse of the
Demand Draft. Application forms without the Demand Draft will not be accepted.

The Candidates who have bought the applications from the Government Medical/Dental Colleges need not enclose the Demand Draft for Rs.500/- again.

Tamil Nadu MBBS, BDS courses admission 2017 eligibility criteria

Age limit– Candidate should have completed the 17 years of the age on or before 31st December 2017.
Educational qualification-

For MBBS course– Candidate must have passed 10+2 examination with minimum of 50% marks (40% for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Caste–Arunthathiyar , Scheduled Tribes) in Biology/Botany and Zoology taken together and the percentage of marks should not be less than 140 out of 200 marks (130 out of 200 marks for Backward Class and Backward Class Muslim) (120 out of 200 marks for Most Backward Classes and Denotified Communities) (80 out of 200 marks for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Caste–Arunthathiyar, Scheduled Tribes) .

For BDS course– Candidate must have passed 10+2 examination with minimum of 50% marks (40% for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Caste–Arunthathiyar , Scheduled Tribes) (45% for y (OC / BC / BCM / MBC / DC) in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology / Botany and Zoology taken together.

Tamil Nadu MBBS, BDS courses admission 2017 admission process

Selection will be made on merit basis of marks obtained by the eligible State Board candidates in the science subjects in the qualifying examinations reduced to the base of 200 marks. Then the admission shall be made on the basis NEET score for the MBBS/BDS courses for the year 2017-18.
